inspirational quotes that keep u going when faced with challenges in school, in sports, and in life?

Here is the quote that has kept me going all my life:

Desiderata

Go placidly amid the noise and haste,
and remember what peace there may be in silence.
As far as possible without surrender
be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly;
and listen to others,
even the dull and the ignorant;
they too have their story.

Avoid loud and aggressive persons,
they are vexations to the spirit.
If you compare yourself with others,
you may become vain and bitter;
for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.

Keep interested in your own career, however humble;
it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
Exercise caution in your business affairs;
for the world is full of trickery.
But let this not blind you to what virtue there is;
many persons strive for high ideals;
and everywhere life is full of heroism.

Be yourself.
Especially, do not feign affection.
Neither be cynical about love;
for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment
it is as perennial as the grass.

Take kindly the counsel of the years,
gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.
But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.
Beyond a wholesome discipline,
be gentle with yourself.

You are a child of the universe,
no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

Therefore be at peace with God,
whatever you conceive Him to be,
and whatever your labors and aspirations,
in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul.

With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams,
it is still a beautiful world.
Be cheerful.
Strive to be happy.

Is the Toyota Celica considered a sports car by insurance companies?

Posted on October 1st, 2008 by admin

Filed under sports quotes | 9 Comments »

I am a new driver and i have been looking around at cars. My car of preferance would be the Toyota Celica however im not sure if it can be insured to 17 year old because of the sports car label. I have looked at sites such as geico and all state for quotes but this has proven unsucessful. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Just write down all cars you like then see this http://gsx1.com/InsuranceComparison.html take the quote, they’ll come back with prices from different insurers in your area. It’s very quick and free of charge.
When you get the quote, do not close your browser, just back up, change car then get another quote for the new car.
Write it all down so you don’t forget.
Also write down the name of the insurer and the link to go back to them.
Spend a couple of days like this, getting quotes and getting your data down till you have enough so you can now see which was the best/cheapest price.

There’ll be more on google. Good Luck

What do you think of Bettmans quote in Yahoo Sports?

Posted on September 29th, 2008 by admin

In his "state of the league" address on Monday, Bettman conceded it might be time for the league to look to more tradition markets saying he was "intrigued" by the idea of more teams in Canada, where the sport remains a national passion.
As we say in the south:

It looks like he's doing like a crawfish!

You only need to do the comparison. Every single game of the Canadian Teams makes it on TV somewhere in Canada. Add to that about 50 games or so with no Canadian Teams playing. Almost all the games of the Play offs made it to air on Canadian TV. Those were all broadcast nationally unless more than 3 games were on at once. (And games not shown were mainly when 3 or more games were broadcast too.)

The Canadian arena's are sold out for next year, just like they were sold out this year. There are waiting lists that take years for seasons tickets - sold out, with only seats available are the tickets they can sell at the last minute when the reserve is lifted from the visiting team list.

This ain't anything special. This is every year, and an average year. American teams do not sell out like Canadian team, there have been pathetic TV coverage, and pathetic playoff turnouts.

There can easily be 3 more teams in Canada and they would be just as well received.

i am going to make a shirt for my softball team that has a good quote on the back of it. i want it to be from a funny movie that a lot of people recongize, like taladaga nights or wedding crashers. an example would be "no excuses, play like a chamipion"

here are a few good ones:
1. Watching your team lose
2. You know your a softball junkie if . . .
3. My boyfriend told me i had to chose between him and softbal . . . im really going to miss him
4. Yeah I play like a girl . . . you got a problem with that? Girls Softball Rules
5. Battitude never underestimate the power of a girl with a bat and attitute.

Hope helped :)
