im a 5′3-5′4 118-120 running back im 14 and will be going into high school next school year. im fast and have good agility. but always get put down because of my size

Powder Keg of Boom!

Don’t waste your time listening to skeptics. If you got the talent, they’ll shut up. I would work on just getting your legs stronger, in the case that you are caught or have to run up the middle you have the strength to break some tackles. Other than that, just work on your different skill sets.

Someone mentioned earlier of running behind your bigger offensive linemen. Its a good strategy. If they can’t see you, they can’t get tackle you. Watch some tape of Ray Rice and MJD, both undersized backs. Shoot, Barry Sanders was on the smaller side at only 5′8”, and he’s definitely someone you can model your game off of.

Most importantly is get in that weight room and make yourself stronger. Nothing harder to catch that a smaller back who is both elusive and strong.

What are some good motivational quotes to put on the back of a state swim meet tshirt?

I’m making a tshirt to wear to the boys highschool state swim meet. what are some good quotes to put on it?

Wow not often you can find a place which has exactly what you want all in one. If these aren’t enough go to the link. It’s amazing to me. And as a swimmer I am a pretty good photographer. haha

Take all defeats as temporary setbacks.

The road to success is always under construction.

There is always room at the top.

The swimmer who says, "It can’t be done" is passed by the swimmer who is doing it.

The will to win is not nearly so important as the will to prepare to win.

The dictionary is the only place where success comes before work.

The future belongs to those who prepare for it.

The height of your success is determined by the depth of your belief.

The harder your work, the luckier you get.

The hardest thing about climbing the ladder of success is getting through the crowd at the bottom.

The only way to discover the limits of the possible is to go beyond into the impossible.

The swimmer that makes the fewest mistakes wins.

Trust your hopes, not your fears.

Hard things are put in our way, not to stop us, but to call out our courage and strength.

He who does not hope to win has already lost.

If you do not consciously form good habits, you will unconsciously form bad ones.

Losers let it happen, winners make it happen.

Life’s greatest adventure is in doing one’s very best.

Luck is when preparation meets opportunity.

Obstacles are what you see when you take your eyes off the goal.

Only those risking to go far will ever know how far they can go.

Only a mediocre person is always at his best.

Practice is 90% physical-10% mental. Championship meets are 10% physical-90% mental.

Pride, intense pride, that’s what it all comes down to.

Practice does not make perfect, perfect practice makes perfect.

People are generally better persuaded by the reasons which they themselves discovered than by those which have come from others.

People who feel good about themselves produce good results.

Swim each practice as if it was the most important practice of the year.

Take the best team and the worst team. Line them up and you would find very little physical difference. You would find an emotional difference. The winning team has a dedication–they won’t accept defeat. Ability may take you to the top, but it takes character to stay there.

Act as if it were impossible to fail and it will be.

Actions speak louder than coaches. (Speedo ad)

Always remember, whatever the goal–keep your eye on it.

Attitudes are contagious. Are yours worth catching?

A winner makes committments to a goal, a loser makes promises.

Defeat should never be a source of disappointment, but rather a fresh stimulus.

Don’t count the days, make the days count.

Faith can move mountains, doubt can create them.

Focus on your strong points when you visualize your race.

Failure is often that early morning hour of darkness that precedes the dawning of the day of success.

Go hard or go home. (Speedo advertisement)

"I have been visualizing myself every night for the past four years standing on the podium having the gold placed around my neck."
Megan Quann

"I concentrate on preparing to swim my race and let the other swimmers think about me, not me about them."
Amanda Beard

"The water is your friend…..you don’t have to fight with water, just share the same spirit as the water, and it will help you move".
Alexandr Popov

"Body does what mind prefers."
Lenny Krayzelburg

"While I’m swimming, I sing songs in my mind."
Alexandr Popov

"There is water in every lane, so it is OK."
Ian Thorpe (on being in Lane 5 for a final).

"You can’t put a limit on anything. The more you dream, the farther you get".
Michael Phelps

"I told myself there was no way I was going to let this training go to waste. It was my time, and I was ready to go."

Please share.

Anyone can give up, it’s the easiest thing in the world to do. But to hold it together when everyone else would understand if you fell apart, that’s true strength.

Have the courage to say no. Have the courage to face the truth. Do the right thing because it is right. These are the magic keys to living your life with integrity.

Only as high as I reach can I grow, only as far as I seek can I go, only as deep as I look can I see, only as much as I dream can I be.

Remember today, for it is the beginning of always. Today marks the start of a brave new future filled with all your dreams can hold. Think truly to the future and make those dreams come true.

People come into your life and people leave it… you just have to trust that life has a road mapped out for you.

Laugh often,
Dream big,
Reach for the stars!

Live your life and risk it all
take some chances, take the fall
take your time, no need to hurry
have some fun, and never worry

If you ever feel like you wanna die,
think of all those things that make you smile
&& Live for those things. =)

Dance like no one’s watching
Love like you’ll never hurt,
Sing like no one’s listening
Live like it’s heaven on Earth.

Time is precious
and its slipping away
so cherish every moment
day after day

You have to go through the worst to get to the best

Do you have anything that would be a good saying for wrestlers ?

“Once you’ve wrestled, everything else in life is easy.” - Dan Gable

“Wrestling is the only sport I’ve ever competed in that puts you totally in a situation of constant [motion] without breaks. I could play football or baseball, swim — but there’s always some kind of situation that would break my thoughts, break my concentration.” - Dan Gable

“I like a women who’s got some balls, some strength. As long as I can beat her at arm wrestling, that’s fine.” - James Hetfield

“More enduringly than any other sport, wrestling teaches self-control and pride. Some have wrestled without great skill - none have wrestled without pride.” - Dan Gable

“Wrestling has been a way of life with me day in and day out. I won’t get too far away from it. I might walk through the wrestling room once a week. I could go every day if I wanted. But just walk through, make sure it’s still there.” - Dan Gable

“There are people who think that wrestling is an ignoble sport. Wrestling is not sport, it is a spectacle, and it is no more ignoble to attend a wrestled performance of suffering than a performance of the sorrows of Arnolphe or Andromaque.” - Roland Barthes

“We are Hollywood, … We’re entertainment, and that’s what the World Wrestling Federation is all about.” - Vince McMahon

1 may not be work appropriate (might want to stash it away out of site), but I find it to be so inspiring….so how about:

–Steve Jobs, Apple Computer CEO, in a speech delivered at Stanford University’s commencement ceremony on June 12, 2005
2. For everyone who thought I couldn’t do it. For everyone who thought I shouldn’t do it. For everyone who said, ‘It’s impossible.’ See you at the finish line.
–From the sign on the wall of the late Christopher Reeve’s exercise room where he did his daily physical therapy after being paralyzed from the neck down in a horse riding accident
